All Saint's Day is traditionally celebrated by most Filipinos. Every November 1, cemeteries are full packed with people, which also became a reunion for every family members going together to visit their late loved ones. While millions of people going and flocking every cemetery all around the country, the graves of our former politicians and late heroes appeared to be lonely.

The graves of former president Sergio OsmeƱa and ultra-nationalist senator Claro M. Recto who defended Philippine interest against the Americans have no visitors during the All Saint's Day. Wreaths were only seen given by either President Rodrigo Duterte or Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

There are also few people who took photos of the third President of the Republic, Ramon Magsaysay’s grave. Known as the “president of the masses,” is the first Chief Executive to open
MalacaƱang’s gates for the masses.

“Si Magsaysay, dating presidente, pero hindi ko alam yung nagawa niya sa bansa noon," answer of a 70-year-old man when asked if he knew who is buried in Magsaysay’s tomb.

“Dati po siyang presidente pinag aralan po namin dati, pero hindi na po namin maalala kung ano pa yung nagawa niyo bukod sa pagiging presidente,” said some of the group visitors who are mostly students roaming around the Manila Cemetery.

Many supporters of Fernando Poe Jr. visited his tomb. They said that this is their way of paying respect to their idol.

Also, no one visited the grave of former Governor-General of the Philippines Francis Burton Harrison except with the wreath of Estrada. Harrison was also a prominent adviser to the president of the Philippine Commonwealth, as well as the next four Presidents of the Republic of the Philippines.

Manila North Cemetery is one of the largest and oldest cemeteries in Manila where you can find notable memorial sites. Among these are the Mausoleo de los Veteranos de la Revolucion, a national shrine for those who fought in the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine American War; the Boy Scouts Cenotaph, in honor of the 24 Boy Scouts killed in a 1963 plane crash en route to the 11th World Scout Jamboree; and a shrine for the Thomasites, a group of American teachers sent to the Philippines by the US government in 1901.
