Children sometimes swallow foreign objects like coins, small toys or beads. Though most objects are not harmful if they happen to swallow it, there are also objects that can really put their lives in danger. Some objects will just pass through the digestive system and out with the feces (human waste) without any problem. But sometimes, swallowed objects get stuck in the esophagus and may not pass into the stomach. In these cases, a doctor will need to remove the object.

The video also shows the result of the X-ray where the coin is clearly seen. The coin was stuck in his esophagus. By using a Foley catheter, Dr. Eufranist Donggon Jornales pulled out the coin out from the child's esophagus. He inflated air using a syringe and slowly pulling out the catheter. According to reports, the child will possibly undergo an operation if it wasn't pulled out, also saving them from spending money because of the probable operation.
Because of what the doctor did, many private hospitals were offering him opportunities. However, Dr. Jornales said that he will not give up his current position. He is based in the rural health unit in Don Victoriano in Misamis Occidental under the program of DOH "Doctors to the Barrio."
