Education is one of the important ingredients of success. Because of poverty, many children couldn't enroll nor able to acquire education even in public schools. Some just finish elementary, some high school, and if fortunate enough, vocational courses or a college degree. But for some, they didn't even step into the school and this is something the government should put their attention to.

Most schools offer a scholarship, either full or half of it. However, not all can be a scholar because one of the requirement is, you need have a high grade or you graduated with honors and if you are given the scholarship, you have to maintain a specific grade to finish schooling without thinking of the tuition or any school dues.

Recently, a farmer’s child in Bulacan receives a full scholarship from Harvard University as one of the beneficiaries of scholarships at International School Manila. He was Romnick Blanco, a son of a rice and vegetable farmer and 7th out of 9 children were able to receive a great opportunity to study at Harvard University in Massachusetts, one of the most prestigious schools in the world.

Romnick started with humble beginnings by crossing a bridgeless river and enduring hardships along the way just to finish English and Computer-Literacy in the learning center of Green Earth Heritage Foundation. Last May 26, 2017, he was chosen to be a scholar and finished his high school at the International School Manila.

But the blessing of the Lord didn't stop there. He passed the four full-ride scholarships in Harvard College, the King Scholarship of Dartmouth College, the Freeman-Asian Scholarship of Wesleyan University and New York University-Abu Dhabi. Romnick will have a full scholarship to Harvard covering tuition, accommodation, plane tickets, and clothing.
